Practitioners will gain a working knowledge of Seeking Safety, learn implementation strategies, role play formats, and rehearse tough cases
Seeking Safety is an evidence-based, present-focused counseling model to help people attain safety from trauma and/or substance abuse. It directly addresses both trauma and addiction without requiring clients to delve into the disturbing trauma memories. Because of this approach, Seeking Safety counseling is relevant to a very broad range of clients and easy to implement.
This highly effective, research-based therapy has several key objectives including:
- Helping clients attain safety in thinking, emotions, behaviors, and relationships
- Providing clients integrated treatment of substance abuse and trauma conditions
- Counteracting loss of ideals experienced from substance abuse and trauma
